Renowned human rights activist and legal practitioner, Inibehe Effiong recently reacted after the Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun ordered the withdrawal of Police escorts from important personalities. According to his statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that the trend occurs every ‘Eke Market Day’.

The directives from the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun ordering the immediate withdrawal of police escorts from very important personalities drew massive reactions from the general public after the reports went viral across various social media platforms.

The move which many applauded had however, been disputed by renowned human rights activist and lawyer, Inibehe Effiong who in a recent statement which was shared on his official X handle on Wednesday, mocked the directive, pointing out that it was a recurring trend in the police force.

According to his statements which were shared on his official X handle, the legal practitioner also the legal counsel to viral boy Quadri Alabi, pointed out that the directive happens every Eke Market Day.

In his arguments, he pointed out that there was a motive behind such declarations. Speaking further, he urged the important personalities with police escorts to go and renew their contracts as the directive was a notice to them.

These were the words of Inibehe Effiong which were shared on his official X handle,

“This happens every Eke Market Day. VIPs who have mobile policemen as escorts should go and renew their contracts. Notice has been given.” He sarcastically wrote.
