Hon. Stephen Abraham Ajiya, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has praised the performance of the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, during an interview with The Sun on Sunday, 27 July, 2025.

‎He said Wike is delivering results in Abuja despite facing mixed opinions from the public.

‎Ajiya, who is also an indigene of the FCT, expressed satisfaction with Wike’s commitment to infrastructure development, especially road construction in areas long ignored.

‎He said Wike’s leadership has brought visible improvements that many residents can relate to.

‎He noted that while some people have criticized Wike, his actions show dedication and seriousness.

‎Ajiya stated that Wike has proven to be a capable administrator and should be supported to do more for the capital city.

‎Looking ahead, Ajiya suggested that if former President Goodluck Jonathan returns to power, Wike should be reappointed as FCT Minister.

‎He said Wike has the right experience and vision needed to continue transforming the territory.

‎Ajiya explained that Wike has focused on projects that affect people’s daily lives and is setting a good example of how governance should work.

‎According to him, it would only be right for a performing minister to be given another opportunity to serve if the political conditions allow.

‎He described Wike’s approach as bold and practical, noting that his work in the FCT has silenced doubts and proved that effective leadership can produce quick results.

‎Ajiya added that reappointing him would ensure continuity and further development in Abuja.

‎”Actually, I wouldn’t have loved to dwell on this but as far as I am concerned, Barrister Wike is doing well despite people’s dispositions and incase Dr. Goodluck Jonathan comes back as Nigerian President, I would like him to again appoint Barrister Wike as the FCT Minister,” he said.
