In a recent video shared on Nigeria Info FM from 1:22, media analyst Jimi Disu responded to U.S. President Donald Trump’s comments alleging genocide in Nigeria, cautioning about the potential political and diplomatic consequences.
According to Disu, “I’m sure that President Tinubu will not try the Muslim-Muslim ticket again,” highlighting that the president must exercise extreme care in political and religious decisions going forward. He explained that Trump’s statements on alleged religious persecution and genocide in Nigeria have intensified international scrutiny and could influence domestic political strategies.
Disu emphasized that the federal government has taken steps to address security challenges, citing the neutralization of 13,500 terrorists and the arrest of 17,000 suspects. He noted that while Nigeria acknowledges U.S. concerns over religious freedom, the government prefers to address such issues through diplomatic channels rather than reacting publicly to foreign pressure.
On foreign engagement, Disu warned that President Tinubu should avoid meeting Trump in the United States at this sensitive time, describing such encounters as unpredictable. He also urged ministers like Festus Keyamo to focus strictly on their official duties, leaving foreign affairs and sensitive matters to the appropriate authorities to prevent further complications.
Disu further stressed the need for a coordinated government response, cautioning that conflicting statements from security agencies or officials could harm Nigeria’s credibility abroad. He highlighted that diplomacy, internal unity, and prudent political judgment are essential in navigating the current challenges.
As a media analyst, Disu underlined that Nigeria’s leadership is under both global and domestic scrutiny, and the decisions made now will determine the country’s stability and historical legacy. View, More,
