Human rights activist and former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has taken to X (formerly known as Twitter), to react to the declaration of state of emergency in Rivers State by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to a post on the official X handle of Senator Shehu Sani, the former federal lawmaker said that the impeaching forces can now rest for six months. The bigwig of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), said that the impeachment target can now rest for six months.

Senator Shehu Sani’s post is a reaction to the declaration made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, and the members of the House of Assembly have been suspended for six months.

Senator Shehu Sani had written, “The impeaching forces and the impeachment target can now rest for Six months.”
