In a recent statement, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has stated that no political opponents can defeat him, as reported by VANGUARD.
Speaking confidently at a reception organized by the Rivers Ijaw People’s Congress in Port Harcourt, Wike dismissed reports that the Ijaw people were against him in the current political crisis with Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
According to Wike, the Ijaw nation remains fully supportive of him.
He addressed the situation, claiming that some individuals were attempting to create division.
Wike explained that despite opposition from some Ijaw people in 2023, he still supported Fubara to succeed him as governor.
He further added that no one could challenge him or diminish his political influence.
Wike also alleged that there were threats to bomb the venue where the reception was being held.
He did not provide specific details about these threats but stated that he remains undeterred by any attempt to intimidate him.
“It is not true that Ijaw people are fighting me. A father may have 12 children, one can be an armed robber. These people who are going to television to attack me, where were they when we made an Ijaw governor? Nobody is fighting me. I am too big for anybody to fight. All these people put together cannot fight me,” he said.
