According to a report by The Independent, U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, saying he is more difficult to negotiate with than Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Trump made the remarks in an interview with NBC News, shortly after a fresh wave of Russian drone and missile strikes targeted areas in Ukraine. The attacks reportedly hit civilian infrastructure, raising the death toll to six and increasing tensions in the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.

During the interview, Trump dismissed criticism from several European leaders who had questioned his administration’s decision to ease certain oil sanctions on Moscow. Instead, he shifted the focus to Ukraine’s leadership, suggesting that Kyiv should move toward a negotiated settlement.

According to him, “I’m surprised that Zelensky doesn’t want to make a deal. Tell Zelensky to make a deal because Putin’s willing to make a deal.”

The comments came as Zelensky accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilian facilities in the latest attacks.
