In a video posted on Symfoni TV from 8:56, the Chairman, Governing Council, Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Hon Robinson Ewoh discussed the potential consequences of denying Rivers State its monthly allocation from the federal government.

Emphasizing the significant contributions of Rivers State to the national economy, Ewoh questioned whether halting the allocation would also mean stopping the collection of oil revenue from the state.

He argued that Rivers State plays a vital role in generating the resources that are distributed among Nigeria’s various levels of government, including the federal government in Abuja.

Ewoh’s statement underscores the interdependence of the federal government and resource-rich states like Rivers State, highlighting the potential implications of disrupting this financial relationship.

According to Robinson Ewoh, “River State is one of the federating units. River State contributes a lot to the center. If you deny Rivers state monthly allocation, are you also going to stop the contribution River State makes to the center? If you stop allocation, stop collecting the oil from here because what you sit at Abuja to share is what you got from the state and the local government.”
