Majeed Dahiru, a public affairs analyst, has stated that Nigerian government has shown it is capable of carrying out complex security operations. He said the government was able to locate and bring Nnamdi Kanu back from Kenya to face trial in Nigeria.
In an interview with Nigeria Info FM from 9:57, Dahiru praised the military’s quick response in deploying troops and air support to stop a coup attempt in Benin Republic.
However, he questioned why the same energy and resources are not used to capture the leaders of terrorist groups operating in the Northwest and Northeast of Nigeria. He said some of these terrorists are based just 15 kilometers away from Abuja, yet they continue to operate freely.
In Dahiru’s words: “If you can bring Nnamdi Kanu from Kenya, if you can go to Benin Republic within 48 hours, why is it so difficult to go into the northwest within this same country, 15 kilometers away from Abuja, or to the northeast and bring the leaders of these groups that have caused even more pain to Nigerians, that have caused even more damages and havoc to the Nigerian state. What is it difficult for us to do so?” View, More,
