Rivers State elder and statesman Chief Anabs Sara-Igbe has spoken out against former governor Nyesom Wike’s recent visit to Abalama, claiming that it sparked communal turmoil.
According to him, the presence of Wike caused tension in the area and led to the use of teargas by security forces to disperse ladies. Igbe asked Wike why he was so adamant about going somewhere he was not welcome in a video that was shared by Symfoni TV.
He claimed that the large security detail for Wike’s visit was unnecessary if the governor was really powerful. Wike reportedly arrived in Abalama accompanied by troops, police, gunboats, armored vehicles, and trucks, according to Igbe. Wike went to Abalama a few days ago and started spraying teargas to disperse women and cause trouble, according to Igbe.
Assume you are planning to visit a specific residence, but the owner has explicitly forbidden you from doing so. He brought troops, police, gunboats, armored vehicles, and trucks to a town that apparently did not want to see him if he is a strong man.
