According to Aljazeera, Amid escalating regional tensions, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander, Major General Hossein Salami, issued a stark warning to Israel following a recent missile strike that reached Tel Aviv.
Speaking in the northeastern city of Mashhad, Salami alluded to the growing capabilities of regional allies and questioned Israel’s defense preparedness in the event of a large-scale missile attack.
“You cannot tolerate one missile that has impacted a nonsignificant point, Salami said during his speech, in what appeared to be a reference to a ballistic missile launched last week by Yemen’s Houthi forces.
The missile reportedly struck a road within the perimeter of Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv.
Though no casualties or significant damage were reported, the incident sparked renewed concerns about the expanding range and reach of Iran-backed groups across the region.
Salami’s remarks continued with a more direct threat, suggesting the limits of Israeli missile defense systems.
“If we fire 600 missiles over your heads at once, what will you do with the rest of them even if you shoot down 100 missiles, he asked.
The statement underscores Iran’s strategy of deterrence by saturation overwhelming missile barrages intended to penetrate even the most advanced defense networks.
It also highlights the growing role of Tehran’s regional proxies, such as the Houthis in Yemen and Hezbollah in Lebanon, in pressuring Israel and its allies.
Israeli officials have not publicly responded to Salami’s comments, but the missile incident has reportedly prompted internal security reviews and reinforced calls for enhanced missile defense readiness.
