Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has issued a stern warning to the United States, cautioning that any military intervention in the region would result in devastating consequences for Washington.
In a statement shared via his verified Twitter account, Khamenei declared, “Americans who are familiar with the politics of this region know that their involvement in this matter is 100% to its detriment.”
He stressed that the repercussions for the U.S. would far outweigh any harm inflicted on Iran. “The blow it will suffer is far greater than the damage that Iran may suffer,” he added, suggesting that U.S. interests in the Middle East are highly vulnerable and that a conflict could spiral beyond control.
The Supreme Leader’s remarks come amid rising tensions in the region, where U.S. presence and support for its allies have increasingly drawn criticism from Tehran. While he did not specify the exact nature of the “matter,” his comments are widely interpreted as a response to ongoing military activities and U.S. support for Israel in its conflict with Iran-backed groups in the region.
“If the United States makes a military intervention in this field, it will undoubtedly suffer irreparable damage,” Khamenei warned, underscoring the high stakes involved.
Iran has long positioned itself as a regional power unwilling to yield to Western influence, especially from the U.S., which it sees as a destabilizing force. Khamenei’s latest statement reinforces Tehran’s stance that any escalation will come at a high cost for Washington.
