In a candid interview on Arise TV from 16:48, the lawmaker representing Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency Abia State, Honourable Obi Aguocha the establishment of the Southeast Development Commission as a positive step towards the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Southeast region of Nigeria following the Civil War.

He acknowledged that this initiative aligns with Nnamdi Kanu’s vision of an economic revival that encourages cooperation among states for the betterment of not only the Southeast but also the entire nation.

Aguocha emphasized the potential benefits of fixing the region, including reduced crime rates, decreased feelings of despair, and increased opportunities for all individuals.

According to Obi Aguocha, “The Southeast Development Commission is a good start for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Southeast since post-Civil War. Nobody is against that. Nnamdi Kanu has called for an economic renaissance that will tie every state to work together for the common good—not just of the Southeast but also of Nigeria as a whole. If the Southeast is fixed, there will be less crime, less hopelessness, and enough opportunity for everyone.”
