Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker, has given his take on the rising level of insecurity across Nigeria.
In recent times, the president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has charged the Nigerian Police Force and the Nigerian Army, alongside other security agencies, to employ new strategies in curbing the rising level of insecurity across the country.
However, during an interview with Channels Television from 8:43, the former Federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, shared insights on the differences between bandits and terrorist groups.
He emphasized that bandits abduct victims and demand money in exchange for their victim’s freedom, unlike terrorists, who have bigger plans and agendas for the entire country.
Furthermore, he made reference to the case of Leah Sharibu, a northerner still kept in the captivity of the Boko Haram terrorist group due to her refusal to deny her faith in Jesus Christ.
In his analysis, Shehu Sani maintained that if Leah Sharibu was abducted by bandits, she would have long been freed since her parents had paid ransom, but the terrorist groups behind her abduction still have more plans for the country; hence, the reason why they retired her.
According to the video, “If Leah Sharibu was in the hands of bandits, she would have been released because their objective simply is to extort money, but the terrorist group had other religious agendas for the country.”
