In a video clip shared by VEO news on their official YouTube channel, former Anambra State governor and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Gregory Obi shed light on the efforts and personal sacrifices that led to the establishment of a major brewery now recognised as Anambra’s leading source of internally generated revenue.

Obi recounted the challenges he faced while courting investment opportunities for the state, emphasising that the brewery—now a cornerstone of Anambra’s economy—not only employs over 500 people directly but also supports the livelihoods of more than 5,000 residents.

Drawing comparisons with similar facilities in Enugu and Ogun States, Obi explained the economic impact such investments can bring when leaders prioritise long-term development over politics.

At some point during the interview, Obi stated that, “if I tell you what I suffered for that brewery to be built in Anambra State, you will not believe it. I had to go out trying to attract business to Anambra State.

Speaking about the highest revenue earners in Enugu, Obi stated that “the biggest revenue earner in Enugu State is Ama Brewery.”

He further stated that “the biggest revenue source for Anambra today is that brewery. That brewery has directly employed five hundred Anambra people. That brewery is at least giving food to over five thousand Anambra people.”

“I wish people were doing that. They have the biggest brewery in Ogun State,” Obi added.
