A former DSS Director Dennis Amachree reacting to the recent court order obtained by the Pro Wike’s lawmakers to stop Rivers state allocation has alleged that if the situation in Rivers State escalates, the financial resources for other state allocations might be completely depleted.

He called for immediate intervention from the National Judicial Council (NJC), highlighting the current problematic legal landscape characterized by conflicting judicial judgments. He also emphasizes the role of the president as a potential neutral mediator, suggesting that presidential intervention could help de-escalate tensions. He warns that if the current conflict is allowed to continue unchecked, it could lead to consequences that he describes as “not very palatable.”
