Ify Monye, the creator of Ify’s Kitchen, talked about the personal satisfaction she gets from helping other women by sharing her infertility story, something she was hesitant to do at first. She revealed that her husband encouraged her to go public, and now her DMs are filled with messages from women seeking advice.
In her interview on the Dear Ife Series podcast, she described the joy of hearing from women who have been inspired by her story and have gone on to have their own children. By sharing her private pain, she has created a community where other women feel safe to share their own struggles. This connection with her audience has turned her difficult experience into a public source of hope for many.
Ify Monye said, “My goodness. My DMs till tomorrow. They come to me. Someone wants to know the hospital that I used. Some just want to tell me this is what they’re going through. And so very many of them, when they get pregnant, they come to me, ‘I’m pregnant.’ And then when they give birth, they’re telling my DM, ‘I just gave birth.’ Many, many, many people.
That must be fulfilling. Extremely, extremely. So, it just makes me feel good because I’m a very private person. I wasn’t ready to put my story out, but my husband was even the one that was like, ‘Talk about it. Go talk about it. Let everyone know. You might just be helping somebody.’ And I’m grateful.”
