According to Nigerian Tribune, Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, expressed his surprise at the recent defection of former National Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Shuaib Oyedokun, to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Adeleke emphasized the significant role Oyedokun played in supporting him during the last gubernatorial election in the state, referring to him as a political mentor.
Despite Oyedokun’s departure, Governor Adeleke conveyed optimism about his potential return to the PDP. He highlighted that Oyedokun remains a respected figure within the party and believes that he will come back in the near future. Adeleke’s comments reflect a commitment to maintaining unity and cohesion within the PDP in Osun State.
Adeleke noted that Oyedokun’s move to the APC was unexpected, especially considering the absence of internal conflicts within the PDP. The governor’s remarks suggest a strong desire to see Oyedokun reintegrated into the party, underscoring the ongoing importance of his leadership and influence in Osun State politics.
He said: “I was surprised that Oyedokun, an experienced politician in Osun left the ruling party to APC despite that there is no fight or wrangling in the party.”….S££ MOR£
