Olamide Thomas, a nurse, who was detained at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) and later transferred to a prison, said she felt safer in prison than at the FCID.

Speaking in a video shared by Sahara Reporters TV from 5:21, Olamide said no one attacked her in prison, however, her time in detention at the FCID was different. She said one of the worst moments happened at midnight while she was asleep at FCID. She said she suddenly felt a burning sensation on her skin after a chemical was sprayed on her and she woke up coughing. She said in the morning she started bleeding from her nose.

In Olamide’s words: “I felt more safer at the correctional facility because nobody was attacking me unlike when I was in FCID detention. I was sprayed chemicals at midnight while I was at sleep, I only felt peppery sensation from my sleep and I woke and started coughing. Then in the morning I was bleeding through my nose”
