An eyewitness has shared what happened during a tense moment between Senator Adams Oshiomhole, some passengers, and Air Peace staff at the Lagos airport. In a video shared by Voice TV, according to her, the issue started when passengers were stopped from boarding a flight to Abuja because the airline claimed the check-in counter had closed.

“We were already arguing with the airline officials when Senator Oshiomhole walked in,” she said. “He was alone, holding his bag, and he went straight to the business class counter. He showed his phone and said he had checked in online, but the staff still refused him, saying check-in had closed.”

The witness, who had also been denied entry despite arriving early, said she paid close attention to what would happen next. “I was observing him keenly, because I said if they allow him to enter, we must enter,” she said.

She later approached the senator and explained how they were told to pay extra money to upgrade their tickets for the next flight. “He was shocked and said it was cheating,” she added.

As Oshiomhole raised his voice, airline staff rushed to bring a manager. The senator refused special treatment and insisted on fairness. “I told him, sir, if you don’t speak for us, nobody will. We’re happy you’re standing with us,” she said.

Eventually, the senator refused to board unless all the affected passengers were treated fairly. The witness praised him for standing his ground and speaking up for ordinary travelers.
