In an interview from 55:01 with The Podcast Network, Charles Oputa, a musician and actor popularly known as Charly Boy, stated that during the #OurMumuDonDo campaign in Abuja in 2017, security forces attacked him and other protesters.

Charly Boy said that when he and the other protesters took the campaign to Wuse Market in Abuja, he was almost killed. He said he was nearly butchered there by some people

Charly Boy added that many terrible things have happened to him over the years, and that these experiences make him believe there is a reason he is still alive today.
