According to a report by The Mirror on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2025, a Spanish travel influencer and her husband have described enduring “three hours of hell” after a gang of seven men allegedly attacked them and brutally raped the wife during their journey through eastern India.

Vicente, 63, and his 28-year-old wife, Fernanda Gonzalez, who share over 300,000 Instagram followers, had been motorbiking around the world documenting their travels. The horrific assault reportedly took place in 2024 in Dumka district, located in India’s Jharkhand state, as the couple camped for the night while en route to Nepal.

According to the couple’s account, a group of men discovered their tent after dark and attacked them. Fernanda was raped by seven men, while Vicente was beaten, tied up, and forced to watch the assault. “They put a knife to my neck and told me they were going to kill me,” Vicente said in a video recorded outside a local hospital. “Fernanda was raped seven of them, seven men.”

Footage posted to their social media showed Fernanda’s bruised and swollen face as she described the ordeal. “Something has happened to us that we would not wish on anyone,” she wrote in one caption. “They beat us and robbed us, but what they really wanted was to rape me. My face looks like this, but it’s not what hurts me the most. Thank God we are alive.”

Vicente recounted the horror in detail, saying the assault lasted about three hours, from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. “They hit me with a helmet several times, kicked me, and assaulted me with stones,” he said. “I thought Fernanda was dead, but when I saw her alive in the bushes, I felt a joy I can’t even describe.”

The couple said they had earlier encountered two of the attackers during the day, after one man approached Fernanda and took some peanuts she was eating without permission. Believing the area was safe after sunset, they decided to return and set up camp a decision that turned tragic.

Local authorities have since arrested three suspects in connection with the crime. “We have formed a team to hunt the remaining suspects,” said senior police officer Pitamber Singh Kherwar. Dumka’s deputy commissioner, Anjaneyulu Dodde, confirmed that the couple received one million rupees in compensation and that a “thorough investigation” was underway to ensure a speedy trial.

After the attack, Vicente and Fernanda were placed under police protection and later returned to Spain. Despite the trauma, the couple expressed determination to resume their global journey once Fernanda recovers fully. “We will rest and be with our family,” Vicente said. “When Fernanda is ready, we will continue our tour of Asia and finish in New Zealand.” See, More, Here>>>
