Nyesom Wike, the minister of the FCT on Sunday held a thanksgiving service in Abuja to express gratitude to God for helping him carry out important projects and reforms in the FCT. The service was held at St. James Anglican Church.
In a video shared by Channels TV 1:20, Wike jokingly said he usually avoids attending Anglican churches because they often make requests from him whenever he visits. He said they never let him leave without asking for something.
Speaking further, Wike pledged to look into the church’s request for the construction of the Piwoyi–Zhidu road. He said that if the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority had been present at the church service, he would have immediately directed him to check the condition of the road.
In Wike’s words: “One of the things why I always run away from attending mostly Anglican churches, there is no way you will come and they won’t ask for one thing or the order. They will always ask one thing or the other. Well, it is your luck”
