Douglas Henry, a resident of the same house as Reverend Father Sylvester Okechukwu, has admitted to arranging the kidnapping that led to the priest’s death in Tachira, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State. He was caught by soldiers and later paraded for his role in the crime.

In a video shared by Daily Trust TV, Henry confessed that his actions were motivated by the need for money. However, he said that he never intended for the priest to be killed. He claimed he only wanted the kidnappers to demand money and was shocked when they informed him that they had killed the priest.

In Henry’s words: “Now I am regretting what I did seriously. I did it because I was looking for money. I did not ask them (the bandits) to kill Reverend Father Okechukwu. I told them I only needed money. When they told me they killed him I said why is it that they did that. It is not what I asked them to do, what I did not expect to happen is what they did”
