During an interview on Channels Television, Senator Ali Ndume took issue with a question posed by journalist Seun Okinbaloye concerning recent comments made by presidential aide Daniel Bwala. The senator responded firmly, expressing disapproval of the line of questioning and what he perceived as an attempt to spark unnecessary confrontation.

Ndume emphasised the importance of mutual respect, particularly among Nigerians serving in different capacities, regardless of political differences. He pointed out that dragging him into a public exchange with someone he considered both a junior and a brother was inappropriate and unproductive.

According to him, “First of all, I really want to correct you on this and maybe also advise you because you’re always trying to throw a punch below the belt. Bwala? he’s my junior, he’s my brother, and we are Nigerians, and we respect one another, so you cannot be pulling me down to talk about Bwala. Bwala is just a special assistant to the president.”
