As reported by Daily Post, Tony Okocha, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has issued a strong warning to Governor Sim Fubara, urging him to alter his governance approach.

Okocha claimed that Fubara’s leadership style is divisive and intrusive, warning that such behavior could lead to divine consequences.

He criticized Governor Fubara for allegedly lacking affiliation with any political party, asserting that Fubara has not re-registered with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) since taking office and accused him of interfering in the APC’s matters in Rivers State.

Okocha remarked, “All this bravado he is displaying regarding the APC could have been better used to re-register himself. I expected him to leverage his position as governor and his influence to return to the PDP. He is not a member of any political party.”

Additionally, the APC chairman argued that Fubara’s lack of party affiliation diminishes his political legitimacy, stating, “If there were to be an election in the state, he would have no party because the PDP, which would have sponsored him, will not present him as he is not a member.”

Okocha also accused Governor Fubara of engaging in actions intended to destabilize the APC.

He alleged that Fubara is sponsoring court cases against the party, describing it as an attempt to “divide and rule” the state’s political landscape and disrupt judicial processes.

“Now he is in the business of trying to divide and rule and make a mess of the entire judiciary,” Okocha claimed, expressing concern over the governor’s alleged interference in judicial affairs.

The APC chairman concluded his remarks with a stark warning, urging Fubara to reconsider his leadership style.

“I pray for Fubara that he changes his style, otherwise, the wrath of God might descend,” Okocha warned.

This recent event contributes to the escalating political tensions in Rivers State, where various factions are still in conflict over governance and party loyalties.
