Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has revealed the intensity of his leadership style, saying he doesn’t make life easy for those working under him. Speaking during the commissioning of the dualized and upgraded Ushafa–War College Road and other projects in Abuja, Wike made the remarks in a video posted by AIT on the 2nd of July, 2025. The commissioning event is part of an ongoing effort by the FCT Administration to improve infrastructure in the capital under President Bola Tinubu’s directive.
Wike, known for his bluntness and demanding approach to governance, used the opportunity to highlight his expectations from appointees, especially the Coordinator of the Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD). According to him, performance and discipline—not entitlement—are the benchmarks for public service, and anyone unable to meet the pressure would not survive in his team.
According to him, “Mr. President, you know, working with me is not an easy thing. For anybody to survive working with me, then you know you’ll work anywhere and survive. Mr. President, the coordinator of the STDD, I pity him. A young boy, I’m sure now, he’s now well equipped. I’ve never allowed him to sleep one day. And I said, You cannot be nominated to hold a position like this; it’s not to come and carry chop, you must work.
