Honorable Solomon Bob has launched a scathing attack on Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, accusing him of bigotry and animosity towards those who supported his rise to power.
According to an interview on Channels TV from 31:42, Bob stated that Fubara’s behavior is unprecedented, especially considering his lack of name recognition before assuming office.
Bob expressed amazement at the fact that many Nigerians are applauding Fubara’s actions, despite his apparent attempts to destroy those who helped him gain power.
This criticism comes amid the ongoing crisis in Rivers State, which has seen Fubara at odds with the state’s House of Assembly.
Regarding President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, Bob acknowledged that extraordinary measures are necessary in emergency situations.
He implied that the normal functioning of the constitution may not be possible in such circumstances, seemingly justifying the president’s decision.
In his own words, “Let me tell you, he’s not the first to come into public office at that level, not being a mainstream politician. But no-one has manifested this level of bigotry, animosity towards those who made him. I mean this guy, let’s be frank, was a nobody. He had no name recognition. The whole point of his time in governance, he thinks it’s to destroy who made him. And when Nigerians look at these things and are clapping for a man like this, it amazes me. On the issue of Tinubu’s state of emergency declaration, when you are dealing with an emergency situation, you result to extraordinary measures. In that circumstance, you can’t have a normal situation in which things are working or things were supposed to work under the constitution.”
