Veteran Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola, has revealed how her political choices during the 2023 general election cost her millions of naira in endorsement deals and almost disrupted her marriage.

Speaking during an interview with Behind The Fame African A-List FROM 2:25, Daramola reflected on the lessons she learned from that period.

“The way I was in 2023 is not going to be the way I will be in 2027. I know what I lost without collecting a dime. I lost two major ambassadorial deals, one worth 10 million and another 15 million because of the election,” she said.

She stressed that the fallout was not only financial but also deeply personal. “I almost lost my marriage,” Daramola revealed.

“The fundamental thing is that I voted my conscience, my choice.”

The actress explained that while her decision was guided by personal conviction, it attracted significant backlash that affected her professional engagements and personal life.

She noted that both endorsement deals were pulled because of her political stance, underscoring the tense environment surrounding public figures during elections.

Daramola maintained that she has no regrets about voting according to her beliefs, but emphasized that the experience has shaped how she will approach political matters in the future.

“I lost two ambassadorial deals because of the election,” she reiterated. “In 2027, I will be wiser.”
