FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has revealed that he assured former Senate President Bukola Saraki that the PDP would be on the ballot in the 2027 general elections, addressing fears within the party that internal divisions could leave it unable to field candidates.

Speaking from 5:57 in media coverage by Channels TV, Wike said, “Today is a day to unite the party and move forward. So many people have spoken here. Senator Saraki has said along with Abba Moro that they were afraid we would not be able to contest the 2027 election at all. I have told Senator Saraki that by the grace of God, the PDP will be on the ballot in 2027,” he said.

Wike said the successful conduct of the convention monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission was proof that the party remained organised and credible.

He noted with pride that the exercise had been overseen by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria rather than just a regular INEC commissioner, describing that level of oversight as a testament to how significant the occasion was.
