Aminu Tambuwal, the former governor of Sokoto State and current senator, has addressed rumors about him. He clarified that he receives about 800,000 naira a month from Sokoto State for his upkeep as a former governor. He said this amount is far less than the exaggerated figures circulating in the media.

In an interview with Adesua on Untold Stories from 37:34, Tambuwal emphasized that the claims of him receiving 10 million, 20 million, or even 30 million naira monthly from Sokoto State are incorrect.

In Taambuwal’s words: “How much am I being paid by Sokoto State government? It is about 800,000 naira a month for my upkeep as a former governor, maybe 865 thousand naira or thereabout. So it is not as if I am taking millions from Sokoto State government. I am not taking that which is in the air that as a former governor of Sokoto I am collecting 10 million, 20 million or 30 million naira as my upkeep and then collecting salaries and allowances from the Senate”….Sêe_Morē
