The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has praised the unity and resilience of Nigeria, saying it can only be by God’s grace that the country has remained united despite its many challenges.

In a video shared by Viable TV from 6.25, speaking about the progress of the country under the APC-led administration, Akpabio commended the government for introducing reforms that are transforming the economy and improving infrastructure.

He explained that building durable roads in Nigeria is very expensive because of the country’s heavy rainfall, which damages roads easily. According to him, only strong investment and careful planning can ensure long-lasting projects like those he carried out as a former governor.

Akpabio also spoke about the importance of food security, saying that a nation cannot be truly great if it cannot feed its people. He encouraged Nigerians to support efforts to fight insecurity and revive farming so that local food production can increase.

The Senate President urged citizens to be proud of their country, reminding them that many nations, such as India and Bangladesh, have divided, but Nigeria has remained one despite its ethnic and cultural differences.

Reflecting on the nation’s journey, Akpabio said it is only by divine intervention that Nigeria has stayed united for more than six decades. “I don’t know how God did it, but that’s why I said God must be a Nigerian, to keep us together for 65 years,” he said, adding that unity and faith in the country are key to building a greater Nigeria.
