Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo, who once served as Governor of Gombe State and now represents Gombe North, has made it clear that he is not planning to run for president in 2027, as reported by Vanguard on Sunday July 27 2025.
He spoke during a meeting with members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe, where he addressed growing speculation about his political future.
Dankwambo explained that his focus right now is on rebuilding the PDP and strengthening its structure.
He said he had already contested for the presidency in the past and doesn’t see himself doing it again anytime soon.
According to him, leadership is not something to rush into it’s something only God can give.
Here’s what he said,
“I don’t have the intention now to contest for the office of President. I have done it before, but as of today, I don’t have the intention to contest now.”
