Patience Jonathan has spoken about the night when she and her husband, former President Goodluck Jonathan, received the news that they had lost the presidential election.

In a video shared by TVC from 5:00, Patience said she was with her husband in their room when they received the news that they had lost the election. She emphasized that she did not suggest to him that they should hold onto power because it would have led to violence and the loss of innocent lives.

Patience stressed the importance of peace and unity. She said everyone in the country is part of one big family, and it was crucial to avoid bloodshed.

In Patience’s words: “I did not whisper to him (Jonathan) that we must stay because we would shed blood, innocent people will die. And who will be the person? We don’t know. It might be you, it might be me, it might be my brother, it might be my sister. We don’t need anybody to die, we are brothers and sisters, we are one country, nobody will live one another, we are one”……Sēe Mørē
