Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted strongly to the latest escalation in the Israel-Iran conflict, following the U.S.-led bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities and Tehran’s subsequent missile attack on a U.S. base in Qatar.
The attack by Iran, which was widely reported to have caused minimal damage, was followed by a surprising move from U.S. President Donald Trump, who called for total ceasefire and dialogue between both sides. The call came amid fears that the region could spiral into a larger war.
Fani-Kayode, known for his controversial and often polarizing remarks on international politics, took to his verified Facebook handle to express solidarity with Iran. In his statement, he praised Tehran for what he described as a bold resistance against Israeli aggression.
In his words:
“I congratulate the Islamic Republic of Iran for standing up to the Zionist bullies and Talmudic troublers of the world, teaching them the lesson of their lives, bringing them to their knees and forcing them to go running to their big brother America for help in the field of battle and to beg for a ceasefire.
In its entire 77-year history, the Zionist state has never suffered such shock, panic, trepidation, terror, infrastructural damage, and shame. Their cities have never been so savagely attacked and destroyed.”
Fani-Kayode’s comments have sparked swift reactions online, with critics accusing him of openly endorsing violence. Others, however, argue that his views reflect deep-seated frustrations with what they see as Western-backed military imbalance in the Middle East.
The Israeli government has yet to respond to the public reactions surrounding the ceasefire, while Iran has remained defiant, claiming its military response was only a warning and not the full extent of its capabilities.
