Aloy Ejimakor, a lawyer, has stated that he once served as a member of the legal committee of the National Council on Privatisation during Goodluck Jonathan’s presidency when the exchange rate was about 150 naira to one dollar.

In a video shared by Symfoni TV from 44:54, Ejimakor said that at that time, things were more stable and Nigerians were not facing as much hardship as they are now. He said when he returned to Nigeria during Jonathan’s administration, he came in with about one hundred thousand dollars in cash and was pleased with the amount he received in naira after exchange.

In Ejimakor’s words: “When I came into Nigeria during Jonathan’s administration I came in with approximately 1 hundred thousand dollars in cash. I had other assets, but at least I had that cash to cushion myself and guess how much I got out of it as at that time in naira and I was happy. You do the math” View, More,
