At the 60th birthday celebration of PDP National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, once again demonstrated his characteristic bluntness and political tenacity. Speaking at the event, Wike recalled a conversation he had with Anyanwu during a critical political period, where he warned him of the stormy road ahead if he chose to contest.

Wike stated that he felt a responsibility to prepare the senator mentally for the scale of the challenge, reminding him that political survival would require not just ambition, but courage and resolve.
