According to the Delta State Police Command in a statement on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, a robber as well as his wife have been arrested by men of the command after the woman threw away a gun kept by the husband in the bedroom into an uncompleted building.
The command announced the arrest of the couple on its Facebook wall on Wednesday afternoon, saying the husband, whose name was given as Kingsley Ugochukwu, aged 40 years, was arrested by the operatives attached to the command’s Buffalo Team following intelligence reports.

According to the command, the operatives arrested him at a food canteen that serves as a hideout for armed robbers and cultists and when he sighted the operatives, he was said to have thrown away a locally-made pistol into the nearby bush. The pistol was later recovered by the officers.
It was gathered that in the course of investigation, he reportedly made a call to his wife and when the operatives intercepted the call, they decided to expand their investigation.
The command wrote: “It was later revealed that the suspect ordered his wife to check his bedroom and throw away another long-range single-barrel gun into an uncompleted building. The suspect’s wife was arrested and her confession led to the recovery of the gun.”
The man and his wife are said to have given more useful information to the police operatives and they are expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
