According to the cable news Timi Frank, a former deputy spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has asserted that Bode George, the former deputy national chair (south) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), lacks the authority to decide the political future of Atiku Abubakar in 2027. Frank made this statement on Thursday in response to recent remarks attributed to George.

Bode George had earlier suggested that Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President and PDP presidential candidate, should wait until 2031 to contest for the presidency again, arguing that the presidency would not return to the north in 2027. This comment appears to have sparked a reaction from Frank, who questioned George’s authority and relevance in making such pronouncements.

In his statement, Frank emphasized that George does not have the qualifications or standing to dictate political outcomes, particularly concerning Atiku’s political ambitions. He further criticized George’s stance, questioning how someone who, according to Frank, is “living at the mercy of the Supreme Court” could assume such a decisive role in political matters.

Frank’s remarks reflect ongoing tensions within the PDP and broader political discourse as the country approaches future election cycles. His comments underscore the debates and power struggles that often characterize Nigerian politics, especially regarding who has the legitimacy to speak on key issues like presidential candidacies.
