Lucky Ottos, the APC caretaker chairman for Abua/Odual Local Government Area in Rivers State has spoken about the division in the Rivers State House of Assembly. The conflict involves the faction led by Martins Amaewhule with 27 lawmakers and another faction led by Oko Jumbo with just three members.

In a video recently shared by TVC from 4:42, Ottos questioned how such a small group, consisting of only three people out of 32 members, could claim to be the authentic Rivers State House of Assembly.

Ottos also mentioned court rulings by Justices Gbasam and Omotoso, which affirmed that the 27 lawmakers, led by Amaewhule, are the legitimate members of the assembly. He questioned why, despite these rulings, the governor has not yet taken the step to re-present the 2024 budget to the assembly

In Ottos’s words: “How can 3 members in the house of 32 just get up one morning to say one is their Speaker and two are members. How? It is against our constitution. If Justice Gbasam and Omotoso judgement have said the 27 lawmakers are members of the assembly, what stops the governor from going to re-present the budget?”….Check_More
