In a recent interview with TVC, House of Representatives member Akintunde Rotimi Junior shed light on the often-speculated salaries of Nigerian lawmakers. He revealed that his monthly earnings are approximately N600,000, dispelling rumours of excessive compensation.

Rotimi Junior also addressed the controversial furniture allowance, clarifying that it is a one-time payment spread over four years, not a monthly stipend. He expressed concern that misinformation fuels public misconceptions about lawmakers’ compensation. He urged the people to desist from such information, pointing out that they’re false.

According to him in a video from 5:45. , “I can tell you very categorically that the earnings of lawmakers every month, if you check my pay slip, it is N600,000, or a little less than that in a month. So when someone comes and tells you that a furniture allowance will be given every month, you begin to worry—don’t people know how these things work? Isn’t it things that are given within 4 years?”….Sée Móre
