Former House of Representatives member, Hon. Gudaji Kazaure, has warned that Senator Monday Okpebholo should be held responsible if anything happens to Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, Kazaure alleged that recent political events in Edo State suggest attempts to intimidate opposition figures, particularly Obi.
“Let it be known that if anything happens to Peter Obi, Nigerians should hold Senator Monday Okpebholo responsible,” he said. “There are coordinated efforts to silence or restrict key opposition leaders.”
Kazaure also claimed that Peter Obi was recently denied access to hold a town hall meeting in Benin City.
In response, Okpebholo’s campaign spokesperson, Felix Omoregbe, dismissed the allegation as “baseless and inflammatory,” stating that the senator has no history of violence.
Peter Obi has not responded to the claims, but his media team said he remains focused on national engagement and development.
