The Nigerian Army recently reacted to the apprehension of a notorious bandit and extremist leader, Idris Idris popularly known as Babawo Badoo in Plateau State. According to their statements which were shared by VANGUARD, they pointed out he was apprehended following a credible intelligence report.
The news regarding the the successful arrest of a notorious bandit and extremist leader identified as Babawo Badoo by the Nigerian Army in Plateau State generated mixed reactions after the reports went viral across various social media platforms.
In a twist of events, Idris Idris, widely known as Babawo Badoo and his gang members came under a calculated and well coordinated attack from the army in their hideout in Lugere village. The attack led to his arrest and recovery of several dangerous weapons.
In the aftermath of the successful operation which caught public attention, the Nigerian Army in a recent statement which was made available to the general public by VANGUARD, narrated how Babawo Badoo was apprehended.
According to the statements from a military source whose identities were not ventilated to the general public, Babawo Badoo was apprehended after a credible intelligence report was forwarded to troops of the Operation Enduring Peace.
“He was arrested on October 20 by troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE at Lugere Village, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
“The suspect was apprehended following credible intelligence, and troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, a magazine loaded with 10 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, a mobile phone, and N12,000.” He said.
The arrest of Idris Idris had sent relief to the good people of Plateau State as he had held the state hostage for several weeks.
