Oby Ezekwesili, a Nigerian economic policy expert, has given his take on the hardships in the Nigerian economy.

In recent times, several Nigerians have expressed their grievances regarding the rising level of inflation and the hike in the prices of commodities, which was said to have followed the removal of the fuel subsidy by the current administration led by Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

However, in the video from 2:02, the economic policy expert, Oby Ezekwesili, criticized the Bola Tinubu-led government, stating that the removal of the fuel subsidy is a good reform but implemented in the wrong way.

Ezekwesili recounted a hilarious moment she had witnessed where a middle-class Nigerian had used seat belts on a bunch of plantains.

This moment displays the immense hardships experienced by Nigerians and the high level of poverty in the country.

According to the video, “I saw a middle-class Nigerian with a bunch of plantains in the front seat of his car, and he used the seat belt to hold the plantain.”
