According to a report by Iranian News Agency IRNA on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, Senior Hamas official Fawzi Barhoum has expressed deep appreciation to Iran, Lebanon’s Hezbollah, and Yemen’s Ansarullah movement for their continued support of the Palestinian struggle against Israeli occupation.
Speaking on Tuesday, Oct. 7, during the commemoration of the second anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Storm operation, Barhoum said the event marked a historic turning point that “restored the Palestinian cause to its rightful global prominence” and placed Israel “in unprecedented political and moral isolation.” His remarks were reported by Lebanon’s Al Mayadeen news network.
Barhoum reaffirmed Hamas’s commitment to the Palestinian people’s “inalienable national rights,” including their aspirations for liberation, reform, and full independence. He emphasized that resistance remains the cornerstone of the Palestinian struggle, saying, “Resistance to the occupation is a fundamental and legitimate right of our people, and the establishment of a fully sovereign Palestinian state with al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital is now within reach.”
The Hamas official urged all Palestinian factions to strengthen their unity and coordination in the face of Israel’s continued aggression. “The Palestinian resistance must remain united in its political and military approaches to confront the occupation,” he said.
Commenting on the first round of indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel, which recently concluded in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, Barhoum noted that the Hamas delegation was “striving to remove all obstacles” in the pursuit of an agreement that would serve the interests of the Palestinian people. “We are seeking an agreement that guarantees a complete ceasefire, ensures the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and allows the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid,” he said.
Barhoum also warned against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s attempts to derail the negotiation process, accusing him of repeatedly obstructing efforts toward peace. “We warn against Netanyahu’s efforts to thwart the current round of talks as he has done before,” he cautioned. “We are confident in our people’s ability to confront and defeat all plots aimed at erasing the Palestinian cause.” See, More, Here>>>
