According to a report by Al Jazeera, Hamas has accused mediators of failing to provide the group with any updates on the ongoing ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Gaza, claiming that Israel is deliberately delaying the talks.

“The occupation continues its policy of procrastination to buy time with the aim of thwarting this round of negotiations, as it did in previous rounds. This does not deceive our people and their resistance,” Hamas said in a statement.

Ceasefire talks are currently taking place in Qatar, with Israel, Hamas, and international mediators attempting to finalize the details of a potential deal. However, Hamas says it has received no new information from the mediators regarding the status of the negotiations or any proposed prisoner exchanges.

The lack of progress appears to be further escalating tensions, with the Israeli military intensifying airstrikes and ground operations in Gaza in recent days. This has led to dozens of Palestinian casualties, including women and children.

The Biden administration has expressed “cautious optimism” about the ceasefire talks, but significant gaps remain between the parties. Israel is seeking guarantees that Hamas’ military capabilities will be dismantled, while Hamas demands a comprehensive end to the conflict and the release of prisoners.
