According to a report by Times of Israel, on Sunday November 23, 2025, former hostage Guy Gilboa-Dalal has disclosed harrowing details of sexual assault he endured while held captive by Hamas, during an extensive interview broadcast on Channel 12 this evening.
The 23-year-old, who was released last month as part of the ongoing Gaza ceasefire agreement, recounted two separate incidents involving the same guard during his more than two-year ordeal in captivity.
In the first incident, Gilboa-Dalal described being taken to the captors’ room while blindfolded and seated on a chair. According to his account, the guard made inappropriate comments about pornography before positioning himself behind the hostage. The captor then proceeded to touch him extensively across his body while he remained frozen in fear. The assault included unwanted kissing on his neck and back, leaving Gilboa-Dalal feeling his body “burning” from the trauma.
The guard allegedly declared his feelings for the hostage during the assault, creating what Gilboa-Dalal called an extremely disturbing situation. When the captor felt his rapidly beating heart and asked if he was frightened, Gilboa-Dalal confirmed his fear. The guard then threatened him with a rifle to his head and knife to his throat, warning he would be killed if he revealed the incident to fellow captives Evyatar David, Tal Shoham, and Omer Wenkert, or to other guards.
A second, more severe assault occurred after Gilboa-Dalal was permitted to shower. He recounted being forcibly dragged to the captors’ room before he could dress, while the guard removed his own clothing. Despite the hostage’s appeals about Islamic prohibitions, the captor proceeded with sexual contact, rubbing his genitals against Gilboa-Dalal for several minutes while positioned behind him.
In his words “He pulled me to their room, and wouldn’t let me get dressed. He also took off his own pants. I said to him, ‘You’re joking, right? This is forbidden in Islam..You’re a Muslim — these things are forbidden.’ I couldn’t see him; my face was turned away, and he was behind me” he said.
Following these incidents, Gilboa-Dalal lived in constant fear of being isolated from other hostages, worried the abuse would escalate. He stated the terror of potential separation and regular assaults haunted him throughout his remaining time in captivity, though no further incidents occurred when other guards were present.
