According to Al Jazeera, on August 17, 2025, the al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, announced a series of attacks targeting Israeli soldiers and military vehicles in southern Gaza.

The Israeli army confirmed it intercepted one rocket heading toward an open area in Israeli territory, reporting no casualties or significant damage.
