Professor Pat Utomi, a renowned political economy expert has taken to his official X handle on Monday to react after he visited Morocco alongside former Labour Party vice presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed. According to his statements which drew widespread attention from the general public, he pointed out that there was not a single pothole there compared to Nigeria.

Former vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Datti Baba-Ahmed and his close ally, Professor Pat Utomi were left stunned following their discovery during a recent visit to North Africa country, Morocco.

The discovery was shared by the renowned political economy expert, Professor Pat Utomi on his official X handle on Monday September 8th 2025. He equally used the opportunity to draw comparison with contemporary Nigeria.

According to his statements which had garnered widespread attention, he pointed out that during their road travel which covered several hundred miles, they never encountered a pothole.

He equally disclosed that the streets were well lighted that night looked like day. This, was a grievous deviation from what was obtainable in Nigeria, as they used the opportunity to draw comparisons.

The recent remarks from the renowned professor underscores the need to put measures in place in order for the country to perform alongside it’s neighbors.

“Had a nice visit with the Distinguished Datti Baba-Ahmed today in Marrakech, Morocco. We X-rayed where things are in Nigeria compared to our neighbors to the North. In several hundred miles of road travel there was not a single pothole here. The streets are lit at night like day.” He wrote.
