The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Ibrahim Abdullahi has alleged Governor Bala Mohammed’s statement about the Governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara being part of the PDP family were expected given his role as Chairman of the Governor’s Forum.

He noted that Governor Bala had previously stated that they would do everything possible to keep Wike and Fubara within the PDP family and that his recent comments were an attempt to strike a balance and avoid causing division. He highlighted the importance of respecting the leadership of each state, noting that Governor Fubara is the current leader of the party in Rivers State. He suggested that it would be unfair to expect Governor Bala to remain silent on issues affecting Rivers State given his position as Chairman of the Governor’s Forum.

He said in an interview with Channels TV From 4:08, ”Governor Bala was expected to speak the way he did that Governor Fubara is in our family and Rivers State is one of ours. Don’t forget that the genesis of this issue was about a month ago when they had a governor forum meeting in Enugu. And after the meeting, a Journalist besieged him (Bala Mohammed) as a Chairman of the Governor’s forum and he did say at that meeting that we are not losing Wike and we are not losing Fubara either.

And he said we will do everything possible to ensure that the two of them remain within the family of the PDP. So here you have to strike a balance to ensure that nobody is scattered in this issue. The governor is the Chief Executive Officer of his state and he is the leader of the party in Rivers State as far as we know. Anything short of that, you would not expect the Chairman of the governor forum to go saying Wike Is the leader of the state. I don’t know if Wike will be fair to himself to expect the governor of Bauchi who is the Chairman of the Governor’s forum to now keep quiet in the issues affecting Rivers State.”….VîêwMorê
