According to the report from SYMFONI TV, The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has described President Bola Tinubu’s performance in the FCT over the past two years as unprecedented.
Speaking in Abuja on Thursday during an inspection of ongoing projects ahead of events marking Tinubu’s second anniversary in office, Wike expressed satisfaction with the achievements under the president’s administration, particularly within the FCT.
“I am very happy with the achievements recorded by President Tinubu, especially concerning the FCT. It has never happened before,” Wike said.
He further commended Tinubu’s leadership, noting that the president’s impact is visible nationwide. “President Tinubu has done tremendously well, and his performance is evident in every part of the country,” Wike remarked.
Highlighting the public’s positive reception of the government’s efforts, Wike added, “Because of the visible progress, Nigerians are already advocating that President Tinubu should be given another opportunity to serve.”
Wike also assured that even greater developments are expected in the coming years. “Tinubu’s achievements in the FCT are unprecedented, and in the next two and four years, you will see what is going to happen in this country,” he stated.
Addressing past criticisms about Abuja’s administration, he said, “Yesterday, I said the simple truth. All of us who are critics have admitted before that Abuja was not working, but now we confess that Abuja is working. Who has made it work? It is Mr. President.”
On ongoing challenges in the FCT, particularly relating to local council administration and teachers, Wike emphasized the government’s commitment to resolving them. “The council would have come up to say, Look, chairman of the area council, this is not right. What do we do to solve this problem? But instead, they focus on irrelevant things, trying to create division. We said those things would not work, but they go home and sleep very well. Very soon, this problem will be sorted especially for primary school teachers, because nobody can be happy when teachers are idle at home. This is a basic thing we must address, and I can assure you, very soon, that will be my focus,” he concluded.
